Managing risk and proving due diligence across supply chains can be a significant challenge, given the growing number and complexity of federal and state level regulations, as well as country-specific and EU-wide laws in Europe. 

During this session, you will learn the latest on due diligence regulations and management from two policy experts: Baptiste Carriere-Pradal, Chair of the Policy Hub, co-founder of 2B Policy, and senior advisor to BCG as well as Pauline God, Senior Policy & Program Manager at TrusTrace. We’ll also hear directly from the brand side - Tahagod Mohamed, Traceability Analyst at Brooks Running - about how to practically implement traceability to identify and mitigate risks.

Pauline God is the Policy and Program Manager at TrusTrace and oversees the research and analysis of regulations and sustainable development in the textile industry. She is an active participant and partner in industry working groups including Policy Hub, SAC and Textile Exchange, to ensure that traceability and data technology grow together with brands and policy to help meet industry needs. Pauline has more than ten years of experience as a sustainability leader in the apparel industry and holds an academic background in economics and environmental science.

Baptiste Carriere-Pradal brings together expertise from all corners of the Apparel and Footwear ecosystem. During his years at Decathlon, he established and led Decathlon's first global sustainability department. He subsequently joined the Sustainable Apparel Coalition, launching their European Office, and leading their transparency and policy activities. In 2019, together with Bente Baeur, Baptiste launched 2BPolicy a consulting firm at the intersection of sustainability and policy. Baptiste also works on the family organic and agroforestry wine estate in Southern France. He is Chair of the Policy Hub and senior advisor to BCG.

Tahagod Mohamed is a Traceability Analyst at Brooks Running, responsible for the development and execution of Brooks' supply chain mapping and product-level traceability programs. She works closely with Brooks' legal and trade compliance teams to establish traceability processes that ensure compliance with current and future supply chain due diligence regulations. Tahagod holds a Sustainable Innovation MBA from the University of Vermont and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Virginia Tech.

Nate Herman oversees AAFA’s Policy department, managing the association’s lobbying, policy, and regulatory affairs activities. Nate leads AAFA’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) program, formulating and implementing CSR policy and representing AAFA and the industry on CSR issues before governments, NGOs, and other key stakeholders. In addition, Nate develops all apparel and footwear industry data and statistics as AAFA's resident economist. Prior to joining AAFA, Nate worked for six years at the U.S. Department of Commerce's International Trade Administration assisting U.S. firms in entering the global market. Nate spent the last two years as the Department's industry analyst for the footwear and travel goods industries. Nate received a Masters of Public and International Affairs from the University of Pittsburgh in 1994 and a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Economics from the University of Delaware in 1992.
