Joint Industry White House Letter on Damaging Tariffs

Industry groups - including AAFA, CFDA, FDRA, SFIA, and USFIA – react to President Donald Trump’s recent comments indicating that the current tariff policy is not focused on driving sneaker and T-shirt production to the U.S. The groups agree that tariff policy cannot scale up a domestic footwear and apparel industry, and reiterate that the footwear and apparel industries have operated under a substantial tariff burden—the highest of any sector, for decades.
