Briefing: Understanding the Migrant Worker Journey
Learn about the migrant worker journey and the role of Commitment to Responsible Recruitment
Audience: Open industry. All apparel and footwear industry professionals, regardless of AAFA membership, are encouraged to participate.
11:00AM - 12:00PM(EST)
Description:
As part of the educational and support resources provided to companies who have signed the
Commitment to Responsible Recruitment (CRR)
, join the American Apparel & Footwear Association (AAFA) and Fair Labor Association (FLA) for a webinar to help companies and suppliers better understand the journey of migrant workers, in this case Bangladeshi workers, from their homes in the cities and villages of Bangladesh to jobs in factories in countries such as Malaysia and Taiwan.
Hear in-depth information on both the legal and personal journey migrant workers take before boarding a plane for a new job. Our speakers will talk about how the Bangladeshi system for migrant workers impacts workers and how companies and their suppliers can be more responsive to workers and ensure they meet at least the minimum requirements of the CRR. We will also learn about the responsible recruitment initiative run by BRAC that aims to change the model for recruitment.
