The American Apparel & Footwear Association welcomed the passage of the U.S.-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) in the House of Representatives today, citing it as a positive development to close out the Congressional calendar, and emphasized the importance of its quick passage in the Senate.
“The passage of USMCA is a positive step for the apparel and footwear industry, and one that will strengthen our North American supply chains that support hundreds of thousands of American jobs,” said Rick Helfenbein, president and CEO of the American Apparel & Footwear Association. “Special thanks to the U.S. Trade Representative’s office and the House leadership for their work to move this legislation forward. We now encourage the Senate to quickly put this agreement up for vote and ensure a seamless transition from NAFTA.”
