AAFA/Others Express Concerns on Uyghur Legislation

AAFA joined with a wide swath of the business community in sending a letter to Senators expressing concerns regarding two House-passed bills – the Uyghur Forced Labor Prevention Act (H.R. 6210) and the Uyghur Forced Labor Disclosure Act (H.R. 6270). The letter states that the groups support the goals of the legislation – to end forced labor and the larger campaign of oppression in the region. However, the letter notes that the legislation, as currently written, would not achieve those goals. The letter offers constructive alternatives that would make the legislation more effective, more enforceable, and more workable.
