Joint Industry Statement Upon Tenth Anniversary of Rana Plaza

On this tenth anniversary of the Rana Plaza disaster in Bangladesh, the American Apparel & Footwear Association, the National Retail Federation, the Retail Industry Leaders Association, and the United States Fashion Industry Association are reflecting on the tragedy and loss of life, and are recognizing the work being done by our member companies and the fashion industry to ensure worker safety in Bangladesh, and around the world.
We support the diversity of worker safety initiatives available to the fashion industry and encourage all stakeholders to maintain the focus on worker safety and good labor practices. As we look beyond this anniversary, we support responsible supply chain partnerships involving all public and private stakeholders throughout the industry.
