Description:
On June 21, the rebuttable presumption under the
Uyghur Forced Labor Prevent Act (UFLPA) took effect. That means U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) now presumes that any U.S. import shipment that has any nexus with Xinjiang, or with Uyghurs trafficked to other parts of China, is made with forced labor and will detain subject shipments. What does this mean for your company? What do the details say about what to document and how to prove a negative? Join AAFA for this member-only briefing where we will walk through what we know, what we don’t know, and our learnings from the existing withhold release order (WRO) on cotton from Xinjiang.
Speakers:
- Steve Lamar, President & CEO, American Apparel & Footwear Association
- Nate Herman, Senior Vice President, Policy, American Apparel & Footwear Association
