Trade Policy Committee
The Trade Policy Committee serves as the principal “eyes and ears” for AAFA on trade and other legislative and regulatory matters at national and international levels. It directs lobbying and advocacy responses for matters affecting the U.S. apparel and footwear industry. It advises the Board and Executive Committee on policy positions. A confidentiality agreement is required for participation on the committee. If you work for a member company and would like to join the committee, please download, sign, and return the confidentiality agreement [pdf] to membership@aafaglobal.org.
Committee Leadership
Stephanie Lester, Chair
Head of Government Affairs, Gap Inc.
Every day, policy decisions are made in Washington, D.C. that affect the day-to-day operations of the apparel and footwear industry, touching every aspect of our businesses. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of political engagement on key policy issues. AAFA members can help shape those decisions by getting involved in the AAFA Trade Policy Committee.
-- Stephanie Lester, 2021 Trade Policy Committee Chair
Hun Quach, Vice Chair
Director of Policy and Advocacy, Levi Strauss & Co.
There’s no question that public policy continues to have an impact on the apparel and footwear industry. When it comes to trade policy, AAFA is at the forefront of these discussions – helping to frame the issues, encouraging collaboration on industrywide challenges, and advocating for policies that moves the industry forward.
-- Hun Quach, 2021 Trade Policy Committee Vice Chair
