U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) recently accepted a donation of a new "One Device" authentication tool that will be used at key ports to assist in identifying and stopping counterfeits. The webinar will explore what the One Device is and how it will be used. In addition, a brand owner (Cisco) will describe using the technology with brokers to increase the reach of counterfeit prevention.

Shelley Raina

Shelley Raina is a Product & Supply Chain Security expert with over twenty years of experience in the field. As a subject matter expert, he has worked with multiple Fortune 500 companies in addressing various issues across their supply chain including risk mitigation. Mr. Raina assists clients in assessing risks across their supply chain followed by a strategy to address potential issues. In addition, he also works with clients to develop tools and applications, leveraging data analytics, AI & ML, to identify and address issues in real time. Currently, Mr. Raina is CEO of True Pedigree, a company that offers customized technology solutions and consulting services around brand protection.
Prior to True Pedigree, Mr. Raina was Co-Founder and COO of Vantage Point Analytics, a startup based in the Bay Area that focused on supply chain analytics and risk mitigation. Vantage Point Analytics was funded by Flextronics (the world’s second largest contract manufacturer) where Mr. Raina also consulted its clients around supply chain matters and product security. Mr. Raina was formerly Director of Compliance Systems and Investigations at Cisco Systems, Inc., from 2005 to 2013. In this role at Cisco, he led a global team of 40 professionals broken across four different functions: product forensics, counterfeit prevention technologies, data intelligence and risk analysis. At Cisco, Mr. Raina was also part of a corporate team responsible for design and development of product security technologies, hardware and software, for all product lines across Cisco.
Richard Nelson

Richard Nelson is a partner with the law firm of Sideman & Bancroft, in San Francisco, and a co-founder of software company True Pedigree. His legal practice focuses primarily on providing counseling and litigation advice to companies that are victims of IP theft and fraud, such as counterfeit products and gray market fraud. From 1994 to 1999, Mr. Nelson was an Assistant United States Attorney in Washington, D.C., and in 1999 he returned to California. He has worked with law enforcement and prosecutors in dozens of criminal referrals of counterfeit traffickers and gray market fraudsters, and has successfully pursued civil litigation on counterfeit and gray market fraud matters. Mr. Nelson is the co-head of Sideman & Bancroft’s Brand Integrity and Innovation Group.

She connects with government officials; members of Congress; and representatives of global e-commerce, social, and digital platforms to shape IP policy, protect U.S. branded products, and advance AAFA member online and offline priorities.
Jennifer’s unique background of public policy, advocacy, coalition management, and strategic communications experience was earned serving across a series of bicoastal public and private sector positions, including with a Washington D.C. public affairs firm, CNN Worldwide, the U.S. Senate, the U.S. Department of Energy, and the U.S. Department of Commerce. Her career began working in the California State Legislature and the California Governor’s Office.
