Webinar: Making Credible Product Claims through Testing and Standards

Wednesday, February 18, 2026
2:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET | Online

Audience:

Open industry. All apparel and footwear industry professionals, regardless of AAFA membership, are encouraged to participate.

Description:

Product claims influence both compliance and consumer confidence. Behind every credible claim lies data, testing, and the right standard. This session helps apparel and footwear brands understand how to substantiate claims responsibly, balancing technical accuracy with clear communication. We’ll outline how testing supports defensible claims, when certification adds credibility, and how to align messaging with recognized standards without overwhelming you with legal or regulatory detail.

We’ll use three common claim types (consistent sizing across styles, thermal regulation, and hypoallergenic materials) to illustrate how data and standards turn marketing language into defensible proof that resonates.

Attendees of this webinar will learn:
  • To understand what makes a product claim credible, compliant, and trusted.
  • How to connect testing data and standards to product development and claims.
  • How focused examples translate science into clear, actionable communication.
