Audience:
Open industry. All apparel and footwear industry professionals, regardless of AAFA membership, are encouraged to participate.
Description:
Regulation is shifting the sustainability conversation from marketing claims to substantiated data. New frameworks, from the EU Digital Product Passport to tightening claims rules in the US and Europe, will increasingly ask apparel and footwear companies for real, source-level data about how their products are made. Most companies know this is coming. Few feel ready.
This session explains what data readiness actually requires. It covers the kinds of data that matter, why primary data measured at the manufacturing facility is both the most valuable and the hardest to obtain, and the practical first steps any company can take to build a stronger data foundation now. Attendees will leave with a clearer view of what is ahead and a realistic starting point, wherever they are in their sustainability journey.
Attendees of this webinar will learn:
- The types of supply chain data that emerging frameworks, including the EU Digital Product Passport, are likely to require, and why source-level data matters.
- How to distinguish primary data (measured at the facility) from secondary or modeled data, and recognize why primary data is both more valuable and harder to collect.
- To identify practical first steps to assess data readiness and build a stronger data foundation ahead of future compliance requirements.
