Webinar: Better Fit Starts With Better Data

Wednesday, September 30, 2026
2:00 PM ET to 3:00 PM ET | Online

Audience:

Open industry. All apparel and footwear industry professionals, regardless of AAFA membership, are encouraged to participate.

Description:

Fit is only as consistent as the data behind it. Many fit issues are actually data issues in disguise—outdated measurements, gaps in data coverage, incomplete definitions of the target customer, incorrect specifications, or the absence of clear grading rules across size ranges.

It starts with body measurement data and how accurately it reflects the bodies you're actually designing for. But fit depends on more than one data source, and when the connections between them break down, the problem shows up in the garment. Get the data right and repeat purchases, return rates, supplier communication, production tolerances and consistency across seasons all improve. Get it wrong and the same problems resurface season after season.

If you've ever shipped a garment that fit differently than your last season's equivalent, or run a virtual fitting session that raised more questions than it answered, the gap is usually in the data - and the decisions that follow.

Attendees of this webinar will learn:
  • To identify the data types that drive fit quality and what each one contributes to the process.
  • To recognize where fit data breaks down across the product development cycle and why it's hard to trace
  • How to connect fit data decisions to downstream outcomes including digital tool performance and cross-season consistency
